P-47 Thunderbolt Micro UMX quick test flight

I wanted to record this plane with the original motor and prop before I attempted Derick Aquino’s sweet mod by swapping out the original motor with the Eflite 3000kV motor and the trusty GWS 5043 prop.

The tail-end view is from my (damn near vintage) 808-16 keychain cam with an 8″ optical tether, meaning the lens (wide-angle D-lens model) is fixed to the fuselage near where the rear wheel would usually go.

The camera is just too heavy for the stock plane to pull any decent loops, but I managed a roll or two. The weight actually helped it’s CG a little, but only for level flight… 😉

What do you think of this rearward-view? Should I send the view back to the cockpit, or keep up this new angle?

How to Sweep

This is not the most efficient method, unless fun is your ultimate goal. Then this works really well.

And the Landlord Taketh Away

Interior image of a long lost roof, likely once a stable part of a farmer or rancher’s home. This is out in Eastern Oregon near the Ochoco National Forest. There were obviously a few tenants around still making use of the structure, but they weren’t up for talk about the matter; most of them just flew off when I approached. The rest scurried underground.

The Dry Spell in Shaniko

This fire hydrant has seen better days. Heck, the town of Shaniko has seen better days. But dry and slow as it might be now, it sure is still purty.

Take a One-Minute Break with the Metolius River

The Metolius River is a tributary of the Deschutes River in Central Oregon, near the city of Sisters.

The river comes from a headwater near Black Butte and Camp Sherman is also nearby. Great camping spots and hiking paths, fishing and bike paths.

Seriously one of my favorites.
