Andy Carson is one of the original members of “Good Day Oregon” which airs Monday through Friday from 4:30-9:00 a.m. on Fox 12. He’s almost always funny, whether he means to or not. Seriously, though… thanks for making news a little more fun, Andy.

Amy Troy is a University of Oregon grad who started her career at TV stations in Bend and Eugene. I think she has a really upbeat method to her delivery; Amy always seems to bring a contagiously good attitude to the newsdesk.

I couldn’t really understand Dylan when he had the mic. I think he was all “Why’s a building still called a building even after the whole construction bit is waaaaaay finished?”

Great studio shoot today for FOX 12 Oregon: Amy Troy, Mark Nelsen, Shauna Parsons, Wayne Garcia, Nick Krupke, Pete Ferryman, Kimberly Maus, and Tony Martinez came by the studio for updated headshots. In fact, the talented anchors Nora Hart and Andy Carson finally met each other face to face for the first time, and in my studio no less! As Ice Cube would say… today was a good day.
Trying to do a little dark-field photography of some of my favorite liquors. Rule number one? GET RID OF DUST. I was amazed how much dust shows up in this style of studio lighting.
The more I shoot portraits, the more I realize that a good smile really starts with the eyes. Not just the thought behind the eyes, but the actual muscles around the eyes are more flexed when you actually smile. This is why saying “cheese” doesn’t cut it.
