Dipping into the past shoots, to see if there are any sweet old trap queen images I haven’t gotten around to sharing with you dear peeps. Found this great take from a 2008 Film Noir styled photoshoot, with Saron Nehf (model) and Alicia Elfving (style).
This appears to be the truck that either got the most care over the years… or else it just suffered a lot less tragedy than the others.
It looks like it’s pretty decent shape, maybe it even still runs? Someone around here must be collecting these trucks, you think.
But who (and where) the hell are they? Enough trucks already; you decide to head over to the lively side of town: the Post Office.
Sometimes the most mundane things find a way to say so much with so little.
Although we could have easily drove right by this spot, I really had to pee and hey – we were kinda lost (in a good way, of course). So we stopped and took it all in for a spell. Only after getting out of the car did I really notice this sign.
It’s easy to imagine that I wasn’t the only full bladder who’d visited that very desolate, very lonely intersection. I wonder if this sign caught them off-guard at first, too… boldly reminding everyone that cares to read it that no, there’s no hunting anymore here.
I can almost hear the steel sign thwack and twinge from the gunshots, being given an impromptu “salute to the union” just before the hungry ghosts beat their own hasty retreat; their beer bottles and spent cases left behind to find their own resting places.
Eventually the dust from their retreat settles back down and all that’s left hanging in the air is the close but impersonal wind, already exploring the sign’s jagged new holes.

No, I’m kidding. She’s fine. But the sun was pretty intense and the grass was not very soft that day; so she pulled of a pretty smooth pose, considering!
No all who wander are lost, but getting lost in this amazing part of eastern Oregon really isn’t half bad.
Hey it’s throwback WEEK over here while I continue to sift through some great old images. This is an older shot of model Cara Mia, shot near the Mississippi neighborhood (Portland, OR) back in 2010. She’s got a bit more ink these days and is still doing tons of great modeling, I understand. Once I get a grip on this workflow of mine, I look forward to doing more casual, fun work like this shoot.
This crusty old metal Coca-Cola sign was something I found laying in the dust of East Las Vegas. There’s a little paint still hanging on, but for the most part it’s camouflaged against the desert floor.
The River Queen was moored along the banks of the Willamette river in downtown Portland for decades. She’s now moored on the Columbia, in a ghostly sort of way. More information:
This old tractor was found in the woods near Highway 26, with a small forest of young trees growing up all around (and through) it. It’s kind of amazing how well the green paint has stood the test of time, considering how old this thing is!
Jayda and I stopped by Medford’s Portal Brewing Company at the Central Firehall after our ceremony, for a quick flight of portraits (By the talented Peter Kim) and fine brews. I’ve been trying the Oil Painting abilities of Photoshop to create photo-realistic paintings. What do you think?
