You stop for a second and wonder just what the heck was this building? It’s in close proximity to some mines, so it probably worked as some form of support for the miners or the facility itself. But all you can really think about is finding water. Looks like there’s a tower of some kind nearby.

You can also just get out of Manhattan altogether and head back down towards the valley again.
