Not a tower, exactly… it looks more like an elevator that lowered miners underground. As you approach it, you hear the distinct trickle of water off to your right!

The elevator can wait. Moving a little faster towards the source of the weak-but-lovely gurgling sound, you barrel through some underbrush and spot a rusty old pipe sticking out of the canyon wall, dripping what looks like clean water from some hidden, underground source.

The downhill runoff looks pretty harsh, but you hold your canteen under the pipe for a few minutes before you toss in your last water purifier tablet.

It doesn’t take long to make the sweet, cool water taste a little bizarre but whatever; it’s so worth avoiding dysentery. After a nice couple of pulls from the canteen, you fill it the rest of the way up. Not bad!

There’s still that ruined old building on the cliffside nearby, or you can grab a little more water and head out of Manhattan, Nevada.
